Tour de Vineyards - 2012

My first REAL bike event.  Sept. 15, Kathy and Dirk Hogue and I rode
in the 19th annual "Tour de Vineyards" during Palisade's Winefest.

It was an early morning.  Here we are at the starting point, 6:45am and 53 degrees.
Chilly, but we are ready to roll!!!

Rode out of town for about 4 miles and then came the big hill!
Palisade Hill or 38 Road is a 14 percent grade hill.
I was so nervous about being the only one who had to stop.

As you can see....many people were walking!!!

Beautiful morning on East Orchard Mesa.

After the aid stop at Carlson Vineyards, several more rolling hills!
This one was another long climb up!!!
I felt the need for a picture and the need to get some
air into my lungs!

Grapes!!!!

Survived the 26 miles. Gained 20 degrees in temperature by the end.
 Proud to have done it.
Conquered the BIG hill and had a great time!

Thanks, Hogues, for a fun morning!!!
